Now that the showy colors of fall are decaying on the ground, and the frost appears each morning, and the signs of lasting ice are appearing on the inland lakes, it’s time for me to return to Lake Superior in the mornings.
We were up there last weekend when the north winds hit. It was crazy to see the water being pushed out from the shore so forcefully after the harbor being as smooth as glass the day before. I always love heading up there this time of year and embracing the coming season and the mild chaos of unexpected turns to the weather.
The Olson quote really nails it! I'm always surprised about how many who live locally UP here don't take this to heart.
Long time SmugMug user; they are great.
Where is that waterfall looking lake edge?
The calendar is my favorite of all you've done!
It's near Grand Marais. There are 100s of features like that along the shore. The are wave pour overs and happen when the waves are the right height.
I'm glad you like the calendar!
Awesome that you live nearby such a great location :) Great images!
Also a fan of SmugMug. :)
