I don't worry about it, because I understand that nature of photography. But many people don't, so I think it is important to explain my artistic approach.
Well said and good to remember the history. I couldn't agree more. Especially when we go out to capture the night sky. Where we're showing a selection of what's there but that can never be seen by the "naked eye". Cheers!
Totally agree with your essays and on top of that no two people see color the same. There are many other physical anomalies that also distort what any one individual sees. Eyesight is supposedly the most complex of the bodies senses. Always drives me up a wall when someone asks about one of your photos which you think is particularly good “what type camera are you using” or worse yet “is that right out camera” implying the good photo is either do to your camera or total lack of understanding all the other elements you talk about in your essays.

Photos are not the real, of course. Removing a sticker from your photo changes nothing: just your photo
