Perhaps wear a GoPro on your head to record then you will know for sure what you think you saw was real or a vision. ;) Neat trip ... thanks for sharing.
That's funny. I don't think that GoPros even existed back when I took this trip. Thinking back, we experienced the world so differently just a mere 20 years ago.
You write so eloquently, Bryan. I felt like I was there too. What a mystery with the thing on the cliff! I wonder what you saw. I will be thinking about that for a while. I love your amazing photos too.

Sometimes the mystery is more powerful (or even more important) than knowing!
Haha, I love this story! So full of mystery, but as you say, the really profound part is simply the journey and the act of canoeing.
A great story, beautifully written.
Beautiful story of your trip! I’ve had moments like yours. They are magical and deeply spiritual.
I really enjoyed this read! Amazing experiences and photos.
Thank you for your amazing photos and descriptive narrative. They transport me to my past adventures in the Boundary waters and northern Minnesota.
What wonderful memories to share with us. I felt I was back in the BW. Thank you.
